The National Danish Performance Team gives you gymnastics with an attitude with the show Connections. The expressive performance is both powerful and graceful. The team displays coordination, strength and balance in a fun family show filled with drama, humor and breakneck exercises. This is performance gymnastics at its best and the Danes have been leaders in this field for 100 years.
NDPT presents a unique form of movement: traditional Danish gymnastics inspired by current dance trends, combined with artistic tumbling and acrobatics. The Connections show will be the highlight of the NDPT week-long visit to 15 U.S. cities, kicking off a 10-month world tour.
The NDPT also brings a message of fitness for life to U.S. youth and adults. As an ambassador of healthy living, NDPT is proud to spread the message of The President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition and First Lady Mrs. Obama’s Lets Move campaign. The Presidents Council and Lets Move recognize and endorse the
important message on healthy living and an active lifestyle promoted by NDPT.
Since 1994 NDPT has provided young gymnasts with a unique opportunity to discover the world. Since the beginning the team has visited more than 58 countries and more than 1.5 million people have seen the performances. This USA tour will bring the team through 15 states across the country and the
team expects to perform at least 50 shows during their three month visit. Additionally, the team offers workshops at schools, community centers, and work places that teach people at all ages that healthy living can be fun.
The team consists of 28 gymnasts, equally divided between male and female athletes. The gymnasts on the team are not paid professionals but participate on a voluntary basis travelling the world in the spirit of giving people an experience they will never forget.
“We have selected 28 of the most talented gymnasts and they are ready with a spectacular show. The audience is in for an innovative performance of very high quality,” promises the NDPT General Manager Johannes Bjerre.
